Chen(2) Ye [10016] This man is probably the author of the medical text (Chen Ye) Jia zang fang cited frequently in YLDD. His address and identification as a descendant of Chen Xiang(3) [7005] is in his Linting zhi biography preserved in YLDD, 7894.1b-2a. As prefect of Tingzhou, he disbursed 200 strings of prefectural treasury reserves to help build a school and 100 mou of state lands (guantian) to help support the students. He reduced the price of monopolized salt and was involved in other activities connected with magic and medicine. His next post was Guangdong Tixing. SHY:SH, 60.1a-1b preserves a detailed proposal for the establishment of hospitals in each of the 14 prefectures of Guangdong because many people were dying from Zhangli (epidemic, plague arising from malaria ?). His disgrace in 1205 was recorded in SHY:ZG, 74.21a. CBD, 3, 2516.From Hartwell's ACTIVITY table:1171:  this year Yan(b)zhou, Chunan county [888] magistrate1196:  prefect of Tingzhou. see documentation for details1205:  Sichuan zongling, demoted 3 ranks (guan) and exiled to Yuanzhou for mismangement of grain stores.1199:  As Guangdong tixing, proposed setting up hospitals in each prefecture of the Circuit.
