Cui(1) Jiayan [10083] An adept in the techniques (shu) of Laozi and Shennong, he suggested agrarian and war policies to Zhao(1) Ding [8024], who considered them correct, but Ding was dismissed as Chief minister (1138) before they could be implemented. He then retired to Lushan (Lu mountain) in Xingzi county, Nankang jun. When Zhu(1) Xi [3257] left office as Nankang prefect, he lived near Jiayan and composed two inscriptions for his retirement hut, the last dated 1181. He was alive in 1189 and I am estimating his death in 1190. See YLDD, 2741.13b, the Jiangzhou tujing zhi (Lu shan was also partly in Jiangzhou) biography, which is based in part on Zhu Xi, WJ, 79.2a.
