Index year algorithmically generated: Rule 3; 本貫慶元府鄞縣寄居武康縣; Chen(1) Zhu [10543] During the Yuan, he became a hermit and lived on Siming mountain. His wife, born Tong(2) (who was 26 years old when they married), was the daughter of Tong(2) Jugao [15179], who was a jinshi from the same yi (city) as Zhu. A Tong(2) Juyi [15178] is listed as a Ciqi county jinshi in 1223 in CBD and as a Lanqi county jinshi in 1217 in Zhejiang TZ. Tong(2) Jugao's wife, according to Zhu's wife's funerary inscription (composed by Zhu) was the granddaughter of a Chen(1) Zhongxian. The only chronologically plausable Chen with the posthumous name Zhongxian was Chen(1) Guoting [8003], a Shaoxing resident and no doubt kin with these Ningbo Chen. I am identifying Jigao as a Ciqi resident and a brother of Juyi and that Juyi was a 1217 jinshi, who moved to Lanqi from Ciqi and that Jugao is the 1223 jinshi in error for Juyi. Both are related to Tong(2) Dading [15177], an 1148 jinshi from Fenghua county, who was a person who followed Yang(2) Shi [2022] on his travels and whose grandson, Jushan [23902], shares the same generational name as Juyi and Jugao, who are probably grandsons, but who will be entered as grandnephews.
