Su(1) Zhe [1493] Yuanyou coalition. Shi's [3767] brother. Their ancestors were Zhaojun, Luancheng residents. A Zaixiang of Wu(6) Zitian [24637], Weidao [19214] (q.v.), was disgraced and exiled as prefect of Meizhou. He died before taking office in Chengdu, and one son, Tang (not in dataset), remained in Meizhou. No member of the five generations before his father, Xun [3762], and uncle, Huan [3763], held office, and Su(1) Xun (q.v.) cannot trace the ancestry beyond that--i.e., there are no links documented between Su(1) Xun's great great grandfather, Jin [19216], and Weidao. According to Zhe, the absence of office-holding was not only true of the Su(1) lineage: all of the aristocratic lineages (shidafu) of Meizhou cultivated their virtue in the family (jia) and none were willing to take office. However, the Su(1) were known for their virtuous conduct in the community. Huan established this family (qijia) branch of the lineage by earning the jinshi degree. Zhe was Chi's [1491] father, Zhou's [1496] grandfather, and Fu's [1499] and Ce's [1507] granduncle. Buqi [3766], the son of Huan, was married to Pu(1) Zongmin's [1409] sister. Xun and Huan were Su(1) Xu's [3761] only sons. Since the generational names change with Zhe's generation, the lineage must have segmented at this point. One of Buqi's sons-in-law was Pu(1) Che [3705]. Cheng(1) Wenying [3113] [Meishan Cheng(1)] was Zhe's maternal grandfather. The Cheng(1) family was wealthy (fu), whereas the Su(1) family was extremely poor. Wenying's grandsons, all sons of Cheng(1) Jun [3100] [brother of Zhe's mother], were Zhishao [112], Zhicai [113] and Zhiyuan [114]. Ouyang(1) Xiu's [1384] grandson-in-law, Su(1) Dai [3771], was Zhe's nephew. Zhe was an affinal relation of Cen(1) Xiangqiu [1674]. The aunt of Zeng(1) Zhao's [7072] grandson, Xie [3907], was Su(1) Zhe's daughter. Zhe was supported by Yang(2) Wei(2) [2032]. Su(1) Shi's friend was Wang(2) Shen(2) [7376]. Shi's great grandson, Xian [3759], moved to Changzhou, Yixing xian during the Southern Song. He was recommended for his initial appointment by the Libu shilang, Qian(1) Duanli [150], because of his great grandfather's merit. Xian was Tiju Fujian shibo in ca. 1177, and appointed Jiangxi yunfu in 1181 after having served as Taifu qing. XCB, 416.7a ff. has important information on the organization of the Hubu.
