Wu(3) Jin(4) [17700] According to the funerary inscriptions for his sons Yi(2) [17701] (q.v.) and Gai [17703] (q.v.), he had only two sons. However, neither Ju [17706], listed as son of Yi(2), and Gui [17707], listed as Ju's younger brother are listed among Yi(2)'s sons or Gai's sons. Ting(2) [17705], identified as a grandson of Jin(4), is also not listed in either funerary inscription. Pu(2) [17710], grandson-in-law of Zhao(1) Bogui [17676], and Jin [7394], grandson-in-law of Zhang(1) Chan [174], both share the generational indicators used by Jin(4)'s grandsons, and are active during the chronologically logical period. Since the SS biography of Yi(2) identifies his wife as the eldest granddaugter of Qin(1) Gui [8008], yet no Qin is listed as a wife in his funerary inscription, I assume that intentionally, or not, these inscriptions are incomplete -- possibly copiest errors were responsible since Yi(2) does have a wife, born Wang, who was enfeoffed "Qin" guo furen. I am going to identify Ju and Gui, as CBD (citing SS) does, Ting(2) as a grandson of Jin(4) as CBD does, and Pu(2) and Jin as probable grandsons of Yi(2). Since mingzi are changed for a variety of reasons, there may be no errors at all, and that these sons of either Yi(2) or Gai changed their mingzi after the death of their fathers, both of whom died at an early age--48 and 42.
