Yang(2) Hui [2007] His ancestors were Zhongshan jun Yang(2). His eighth generation ancestor, Ke [4047], served Tang as Hanzhou, Jintang county magistrate. When he died, his son, Shan [4049], was given an official post and followed Xizong into Sichuan. Since Ke was buried in Mianzhu xian, Shan made it his new address. His immediate patrilineal ancestors had lived in retirement, concealing their virtue (yinde), for three generations. Yang(2) Zonghui [19273] (q.v.) has the same ancestry to Shan, whose son Ying [19269] was Zonghui's great grandfather. Ying's son, Yan [19270], has the same generational name as Hui's great grandfather, Ye [12392], which sets the generations apart since Zonghui's sons (who would be lineage uncles of Hui) have the same generational name as Hui, and Zonghui has the same generational name as Hui's father, Zongdao [12393]. Chronological logic as well as generational names must mean that Ying was a grandfather, rather than father, of Yan and that Ye was probably a grandson of Ying. Hui was jinshi # 2 in 1053. His wife, Li(2) Shi, was from the same prefecture. Since the Yang(2) and Fan(2) were a multi-generational kindred family (shiyin), Fan(2) Zuyu [7026] composed his funerary inscription. Hui was the father-in-law of Fan(2) Bailu's [578] cousin, Fan(2) Bailu [3284] (Zhen's [3279] son). Fan Zuyu, WJ, 39.8b-14a; XCB, 260.5a, 282.7a, 412.1a; Sichuan TZ, 122.17a. CBD, 4, 3145-6.
