Ye(1) Yong [2058] His ancestors were Zhenjiang, Danyang residents. During the period of the transition from the Tang to the Later Liang dynasty, a member of the family held a post in Quanzhou and thereupon settled in what was to be Xinghua jun, Xianyou xian. His fourth generation ancestor, Bin [4072], received his jinshi in 1005. Bin's son-in-law, Fang(1) Shende [3300], is probably from a cadet branch of Fang(1) Shenyan's [600] lineage. Yong was Fang(1) Songqing's [7110], Lin(1) Li's [7044] and Yao(1) Zongzhi's [7101] father-in-law, and Fang(1) Xinru's [7029] grandfather-in-law. XNYL, 177.9b, 179.2b, 4b, 181.10a; Lin Guangchao, WJ, 8.1a-8b; Cai Xiang, WJ, 38.15a; Yang Wanli, WJ, 119.1a. In Fujian TZ (e.g. 148.23b recording his jinshi in 1132), his mingzi is Yu (i.e. without the head radical), probably because of some taboo. CBD, 4, 3242.
