Zhang(1) Zi(2) [26950] When he was newly born, his mother entered the inner palace as a wet nurse. He was then adopted by the eunuch, Zhang(1) Jingzong [26951]. In the funerary inscription for Zi(2), Jingzong is provided with two wives, the second, born Zhu(1), is identified as Zi(2)'s mother. This must mean that the mothers of eunuch's adopted sons become ritually their wives. The surname of his son-in-law, Han(1) Fu [23256], is missing in the list of son-in-laws in Zi(2)'s funerary inscription. Zheng Xie, WJ, 20.3b-9b. CBD, 3, 2237.
