Qian(1) Weiyan [8006] When his father Shu [3037], King of Wuyue, voluntarily submitted to Song in 978, after the forced abdication of his uncle Zong [3039], Weiyan was given a post. He subsequently passed a decree examination. Yi [146] (qv.) was Zong's grandson. Weiyan was Shu's second son according to one source, but Shu's funerary inscription makes him the seventh son. Shu's son-in-law, Yuan(2) Xiangzong [4138], was Yuan(2) Jiang's [2112] cousin. Shu was buried in Henan, Luoyang xian. Before his great grandson, Chen, moved to Taizhou, Linhai county at beginning of Southern Song, his Weiyan's descendants and/or wives were buried in Kaifeng and Chen is identified as a Kaifeng resident. Weiyan was considered a partisan of Yang(2) Huangtaihou [4215], regent during Zhao(1) Renzong's [9004] (qv.) minority. Weiyan was Ai's [142] and Xuan's [7142] father, Bingzhi's [148] great great grandfather, Duanying's [151] and Duanli's [150] great great grandfather. His great great grandson, Duanzhong [3040], was Huaidong tiju in 1189, promoted to Jiangxi yunfu and then served a term as Jiangdong yunfu between 1192 and 1195. Li(2) Chongju [984] was the grandfather of Zunzui [3537] who was the father-in-law of Weiyan's son, Hui [3034]. Hui's maternal grandfather was Zhao(1) Zhenzong [9003].
