Teng(1) Kang [8123] Wang(1) Zao traces ancestry to Wen Wang of Zhou and a descendant, Lingcong [21572], who held office in Tang and was the ancestor of Teng Yuanfa [4171] (with generation by generation linkages made by Su(1) Shi in his funerary inscription for Yuanfa). Wang(1) Zao provides no direct links and no entries for Teng in either Zhou Jiayou or XTS genological tables. I am going to make these jia 'a' and 'b' of the same root lineage, with the senior branch being that of Yuanfa, which moved to Suzhou first, and that move may help explain both the move of Kang as well as that of affinal kin, Chang(2). It also may explain the move of Kang's brother, Yu [7351], to Jinhua since the ancestral home of branch 'a' of the lineage was Wuzhou, Dongyang county. Kang entered university (taixue) at age 18 (i.e. in 1091). You(1)'s [7350] son, Yu(2)'s [7351] brother, Chang(2) Anmin's [7000] son-in-law, Chang(2) Tong's [7001] and Liang(1) Xingzu's [7283] father-in-law. Wang Zao, WJ, 26.22b-18a; YLDD, 2367.13b.
